Terroir
The fruit for the 2026 Pinot Gris is sourced from maritime, cool climate Mount Gambier. The soil profile is dominated by metamorphosed limestone. The vineyard is organically managed.
Winemakers notes
A long, cool 2026 vintage in Mount Gambier—marked by increased rainfall—delivered excellent fruit quality and vibrant natural acidity. After years of coaxing my growers to part with a portion of their Pinot Gris, 2026 was finally the year. Picked on April 5th, the fruit was cold-soaked for 12 hours before a long, slow press designed to minimise pomace breakup. Cold-settled and transferred to neutral oak, the juice fermented and aged on full solids, yielding a wine that balances crisp maritime acidity with rich, layered textural depth.
